Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Making the decision to euthanize Bob was difficult…and for our family as a whole—the biggest loss in our household to date. We each recognized it was the right decision at the right time….even though there really isn’t a ‘right’ time for such a hard decision. All of us had been preparing ourselves for the loss of Bob for a while since he was a big breed and approaching 14 years of age.
We took him to the Vet a couple weeks earlier and although he had some issues, and we knew he was starting to deteriorate—we didn’t realize how quickly we would actually have to say goodbye to our old boy. Thursday night was a hard night for Bob as he struggled to breathe and he seemed extremely restless. Paige stayed up with him and let me know very early on Friday morning it was time to schedule Bob’s departure.
It is unfortunate so many of our decisions have to be based on money…do we have it or don’t we? We always knew we wanted Bob to be at home with us and Annie as he passed, and we always knew we wanted Bob’s individual cremains to be brought back home to us. We also knew---- regardless of the cost----we would find a way to honor Bob the way we wanted and the way he deserved. It was worth every
Thanks to Lap of Love and especially Dr. Erin, (abq@lapoflove.com) we were able to experience the most humane and peaceful way to say goodbye to our beloved Bob. Both Bob and Annie were immediately at ease when Dr. Erin walked into our home. It was like they both could sense her purpose—and knew she could be trusted. What a gift.
Bob was able to eat his most favorite snack—chocolate chips as Dr. Erin gave him a sedative to completely put Bob to sleep. As Bob found his place to lie down in the kitchen, close to the back door, we all gathered around him to say our final goodbyes. The heartache was/is tremendous—but we should all be so lucky to pass in such a loving and peaceful environment."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"I found my sweet boy in August of 2009. My husband said I could get a little dog, no bigger than 20 pounds. He came into his new family at 100 pounds and grew to about 200 pounds. Helping him leave this world was going to be a large task. Thankfully, I found Dr. Erin Deveau, and "Lap of Love". Putting our furry children to sleep is the hardest thing in the world to do. Dr. Erin could not have been kinder, and made this task a bit easier. My sweet boy "Fatty", was so at ease having this done in his home surrounded by his family. I wish I had found this service for my other furry babies. After it was over, the wonderful people at "Best Friends" came and took my baby for cremation. Being that I will never be without furry kids, I will continue to use "Lap of Love". Thank you for offering this type of service, and for understanding that those of us that have animals truly believe they are one of our children, and should be treated as such. The photo of him is the first day that he came to his new mommy and daddy. He always thought he was a lap dog, don't they all."Denise ChristieAlbuquerque, New MexicoFebruary 12, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Erin Deveau was so amazing, we was/and still are heart broken over our sweet Ginger. Erin came to our home and explained everything to us with compassion. She did not hurry us on our goodbye to our sweet baby. We cried during and are still crying for our little girl. We feel so blessed to have Erin Deveau/Lap of Love to help our sweet Ginger cross over to the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank You May God Bless You

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"We want to thank Dr. Erin and Lap of Love for providing Sabastian with a very peaceful and dignified passing.
Dr. Erin was very gentle and was willing to let Sabastian spend his final hour outside with us enjoying the sunshine, sounds, and scents of our front yard (his favorite place to be).

Thank you again for providing a service that has brought so much peace to our family.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Dr. Erin was so understanding and compassionate when it was time to send Matilda on her way. She was very gentle, and I know she made my kitty's last hour on earth very special. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Our 13 year old black lab got very sick on Sept.14. She continued to go down hill and we decided to have her suffering in. We called a local pet facility here in Albuquerque and They had Dr. Erin Deveau call us. We told her what was going on and what we wanted to do. She came to our house within an hour and helped us put Bailey out of pain. She was one of the kindest and understanding person we have had the pleasure to work with. She make time for our family and our other furbaby Vida to have time to say goodbye. Now that we have had such an incredible experience with Dr. Erin we would recommend her to anybody who has to put an animal down. It was very hard on us and she cared about Baily and our family. Then she took Bailey to be cremated.
Thank you again Dr. Erin."
