Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr. Jordan is the most compassionate and caring person. He helped us so much during such a difficult time. Our precious dog Lily was granted the greatest gift as she left this earth. We thank you so very much for giving our dog the grace and peacefulness she deserved. We will be forever grateful."Jill CooperFort Lauderdale, FloridaMarch 4, 2017Lily's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"Thank God I found lap of love and for Dr Annie. I had to make the hardest decision to put down my 14 year old Springer Spaniel. I adopted her when she was 10 weeks old an she was my shadow. I was tormented with my decision for weeks, and was even unsure of myself the day Dr Annie came to our home. After speaking with Dr Annie, she confirmed my thoughts and that my beautiful Savannah was in pain. That meant the most to me, to have Dr Annie confirm that I was doing the right thing for Savannah. Dr Annie was calm and patient and respected our love for our dog. She walked us through every step which was very important especially for my 13 year old daughter. The pain I feel today is great, however I know I did the right thing for Savannah. Lap of Love and Dr Annie made this transition in our family more bearable. Thank you Dr Annie."Susan ShomperOviedo, FloridaMarch 4, 2017Savannah's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tiffany Matheson, DVM"Dr. Tiffany Matheson was compassionate and provided a beautiful and peaceful passing for our darling, Bailey. It was a tough time but we are extremely thankful she was there to help us say our final farewell to our sweet and loving girl."Lenore ParrBoynton Beach, FloridaMarch 3, 2017Bailey's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Fenton, DVM"Dr. Christina was so nice and comforting to us. She took the time to get to know our dog Ringo. She truly understands what pet owners are going through, having to make an extremely difficult but unfortunately necessary decision to end the life of a loving family member. We have no regrets in our decision to have Lap of Love come to our home and help us ease our beloved Ringo's pain.
I know that everyone involved, from my initial call for an appointment, through the aftercare for Ringo, has loved and lost pets of their own. They understand how heartbreaking the decision is for pet owners. We feel so blessed to have met Dr. Christina. She made this painful day a little less unbearable."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Steven Schultz, DVM"Dr Schultz was wonderful. He treated my Killmo with great respect and showed so much interest in his life and how he got his name. He was willing to answer all questions and took his time with the process. I am so glad that I chose to use Lap of Love to set my favorite boy free."Joan UsiakBuffalo, NYMarch 2, 2017Killmo Aka Mr. Killmouseki's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Loren Gassler, DVM"Dr. Loren was so kind and compassionate, she made an awful experience so much easier to handle. She helped me understand the gift I was giving my sweet girl by letting her go. I can't stress enough how this experience was so much better than taking your pet to the vet hospital. If all of Lap of Love vets are as wonderful as Loren, then you truly have a trove of angels in the organization. Thank you so much for providing this service to our family and all the fur baby families out there. And thank you Loren for your kindness and understanding. You are an angel."Meredith FuentesOldsmar, FloridaMarch 2, 2017Daisy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Parr, VMD"I heard about Lap of Love through a friend. My main reason for wanting to say goodbye to Sage at home was because she was terrified of going to the vet. There was no consoling her whenever we would go to any vet. I did not want that to be her last experience. Dr. Jo came to our house and talked to all of us, and of course Sage. Sage had to give her a good sniff. There was nothing wrong with her sniffer! Anyway, Dr. Jo was asking us questions about Sage as she was setting up and giving us time. I thought she was just asking to make it easier for us at the time, but she was really listening too. She used this information about Sage to write a lovely memorial for her on her facebook page. She explained every step and gave us time between each step. She made a paw print for us and offered to cut some of Sage's hair for us. When Sage had passed we were allowed as much time as was needed with her. And when she left she offered hugs to us girls whom she knew needed them. I would highly recommend Dr. Jo and Lap of Love. I also want to acknowledge the people on the phone when I called. I don't remember their names (I called a couple of times) but everyone I spoke to was very sweet and calming."Keely LubyConestoga, PennsylvaniaMarch 2, 2017Sage's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Dr. Brad was able to come to our house within a few hours of learning that we had to put Linus down. We were able to be in the comfort of our own home on the couch, keeping Linus warm and cozy the entire time which gave us peace of mind. Dr. Brad was so gentle with Linus and his compassionate disposition truly helped us get through the hardest moment of our life. We are thankful it was him who helped Linus cross over rainbow bridge."Kelly & Nicolas GannonPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaMarch 2, 2017Linus's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM""Your beautiful baby has his much deserved angel wings. He snored his way to heaven surrounded by love." Those were the
words of Dr. Katie Stender the day she helped him to doggie heaven. Our family could feel her loving energy the minute she stepped into our home. Most importantly Simba was completely relaxed lying next to her. We can't begin to thank her enough for helping our baby transition to Rainbow Bridge!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Leslie Peltier, DVM"Dr. Leslie you are graced by God for the work that you do, you have to know that. You have given my husband and I the gift of letting our Wolfie go with dignity; at home. I could not see putting him in the car to drive him to the vet even one more time and it be his last. Our Vet is wonderful and she has done everything possible to save him. He had been sick for months and only getting worse; there was no way to save him. My husband and I finally realized that if we tried to keep him here any longer would be selfish. You helped us let go and we thank you for that. We miss him and the pain we feel will last for a long time. Thank you and all at Lap of Love so very much for all that you do for us Animal Lovers in our time of distress."Susan OchsReynoldsburg, OhioMarch 2, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"After battling cancer and chronic kidney disease for the past 6 months, the time had come to say goodbye to our Trixie girl. Desperately wanting a peaceful, loving transition for our girl, Dr. Katie Stender of Lap of Love in Jacksonville, FL, came highly recommended. Dr. Katie was amazing – I feel like I've known her all my life. She was incredibly compassionate, calm, professional, and understanding; she explained each step in detail and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. She laid on the blanket with us cuddled up to Trixie, and even cried with us when she earned her angel wings. Most importantly, she provided the serene and dignified transition full of love for Trixie that was needed after such a difficult illness. Truly blessed and grateful for Dr. Katie and Lap of Love – all dogs should be so lucky to transition so peacefully with such love and compassion. Thank you, Dr. Katie... xo."Bernadette Rivell DanielsPonte Vedra Beach, FloridaMarch 2, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Peter Gollub, DVM"We cannot thank Dr. Peter enough for his kind & compassionate help to say goodbye to our 13 year old sweet boy Cozmo. As hard a decision it was, he helped us thru that process and having this done at home was less stressful on all of us. His 7 year old sister Daisy warmed right up to Dr. Peter where she is normally very shy & skittish to strangers so I knew Cozmo was in good hands. Cozmo had been diagnosed a few months back with heart disease, but him being a highly allergic dog, could not handle the medications and started to fail fast. and did not want to see him suffer any longer. Again, I am so grateful to Dr. Gullub for his warmth & compassion & glad we made the choice to have Cozmo leave for Heaven in the comfort & safe feelings of his own home."Maureen SousaTewksbury, MassachusettsMarch 2, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Dr. Katie Stender was absolutely wonderful. She was so very carring and compasionate. She even shed tears along with us. We were very fortunate to have had her to help with Corona's transition and our pain. She actually helped us with another of our dogs Magnum in July 2014.

I do not think there is anyone else I would call to help help us in the future."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"There are not enough words in the dictionary to define the gratefulness we feel for Dr. Fry. Her presence in our home is best explained as divine. I truly believe that she is an Angel in human form and was sent to us straight from God, himself.
She was kind, compassionate, and professional. She spoke to our children respectfully and with deliberate intention to sooth their grieving souls.
We will hold her in our hearts forever."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"We knew our cat Inky was not going to make it long after we took him home from the vet. We thought we would have longer with him, but when his chest cavity began refilling with fluid from the lymphoma, we knew he would soon be in pain. We put in a request overnight and Carly started texting us at 5:50 in the morning on Mardi Gras Day. She came out for 7 before all her other appointments.

The comfort, care and concern she gave us was second to none. She helped us through what has been the hardest transition Sherry and I have ever been through. Inky died in Sherry's arms the way he loved to be cradled. He passed so peacefully. He was a black cat with a white spot on his chest and Carly was so accommodating to cut both the black and white hair for his lock of love.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

(the picture of him shows how laid back he is, basking in the warm sun--I hope that's how his spirit feels forever)."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Stacy Michele Blake, DVM"One of the hardest decisions to be made but Dr Stacy treated our family with dignity, respect and compassion. Our dog (like many) was very stressed about the vet's office so I felt so much better having this option to keep her in the comfort of her home."Angela WensyelOrlando, FloridaMarch 1, 2017Maggie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"My family and I knew it was my sweet Ella's time to go when she started becoming incontinent, unable to walk properly, and when we were informed of her cancer. She wasn't the same dog anymore. She couldn't run or play with our mini Australian shepherd in the yard and had difficulty doing simple tasks like eating and drinking. We had to help her up and down the stairs because of how much pain she was in. Ella would get so nervous going to the vet so we decided we needed to figure out another way to take her out of her pain. When we made the appointment for Lap of Love with Dr. Katie Stender, we didn't know what to expect. The moment Dr. Katie walked through the door, the mood changed. She was so sweet and empathetic. She gave hugs to everyone in my family and made the experience feel more personal. She explained everything to us like what was going on with Ella and what to expect. One of the things that was very helpful and something I'm thankful for is that she confirmed with us that Ella was ready to make her transition. I was so scared of calling it too early or too late but she made me feel like we did it at the right time. She was so gentle with her and made everyone, including Ella extremely comfortable. Her passing was so peaceful and she wasn't scared like she would've been if we went to the vet. I am so very thankful for Dr. Katie for making this experience so intimate and peaceful. She made us feel calm and I don't think it could've gone more perfectly. I will always use Lap of Love for my pets in the future. I know my Ella baby is resting easy thanks to Dr. Katie and Lap of Love. Thank you for everything you did for my family and Ella."Addison UrquhartJacksonville, FloridaFebruary 28, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Maple had been with me for 11 years, and had been my rock through the toughest of times. When it came time to make the decision to send her home, we wanted her to leave us surrounded by all that comforted her and knowing she was loved till her last moment and beyond.

I contacted Lap of Love and spoke with Donna who was very gentle and attentive about what we were about to do, and she made the appointment and all aspects seamless.

Dr Katie arrived at our home, and made all of our comfort the top priority. She eased our anxiety from the moment she came into our home. She made maple comfortable, and let her know who she was. Maple knew she was in good hands. She walked us through the process gently, and helped carry Maple over the rainbow bridge. Letting her go was one of the hardest, but with the help of this service, also one of the most beautiful things i have witnessed. Maple passed in the loving comfort of all the cared for her. Lap of Love give her the chance to cross over without fear, and they gave me the ability to let Maple go in the dignity and kindness a faithful friend desired.

Maple's beautiful departure wasn't the end, because lap of love took it a step further. Within a day we were contacted to see how we were doing, and they extended themselves to us for support. And just a few days later, a card from Dr Katie herself thanking us for giving her the chance to be part of Maples journey, that we where in her prayers and she was there for us.

From the moment we contacted Lap Of Love till the day I picked up Maples ashes, they were there. In all honesty, I had feared the day id have to let my old lady go. Lap of Love made the hardest decision doable, and in a way that there was a finality to all of this which sat with me in the right way. Im always going to miss Maple, but with the help of Lap of Love, I felt I was able to truly give my dog the peace she deserved."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Beth Meadow, DVM"Dr Beth was so understanding & compassionate. She helped us through a very difficult situation as our dog bit my husband again. This time was bad. We had some bites from him from almost day 1. She helped us realized that our dog was suffering. It wasn't just about us. He deserved happiness & peace from the torment that he must have felt. All the fear & anxiety that he was going through. Thank you Dr Beth for helping us realize that. She told us that he knew we did the best we could with him & loved him. All the trainers we had to help him. We thought we were doing the best to keep him around. She was so respectful with his body. We cried & she hugged us. I will never forget how she helped us through this difficult situation. May she live a long, happy & prosperous life. She did a great deed."Susi BoudreauxAlexandria, VirginiaFebruary 27, 2017Anslie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Charlotte Hotchkiss, DVM"I am so grateful to Lap of Love for the tender care Dr. Ashleigh and Dr. Charlotte showed to us. This was one the hardest things I have ever had to do and I thank you for making it something that could be at home where Max was not scared and we could all be with him and hold him as he let go."Claire LeBeauSeattle, WashingtonFebruary 27, 2017Max's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"I called Dr.Carly with Lap of Love, and she made the trip out on a Sunday evening. She arrived and explained everything to me. She examined him and agreed that it was the best for him. The process was tough for me, but yet I felt at ease. I got to say goodbye to my boy while he was no longer in pain. I would like to personally thank Dr. Carly and the Lap of Love for making it such a good experience for such a sad day for me."Scotty CanezaroPort Allen, LouisianaFebruary 27, 2017Shadow's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"Dr. Annie is amazing. A compassionate professional from beginning to end, and absolutely perfect at what she does.
It takes a special person to assist pet owners with tough decisions, but Dr. Annie's approach is the perfect balance of clinical knowledge and compassionate understanding.
Dr. Annie reassured us that we were making the right decision for our pet's condition, and made sure that we were 100% informed about every step and every aspect of her visit. We could not have felt more at ease. Thank you, Dr. Annie!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Alexandra Saura, DVM"Dr. Alex came to our home on the evening of February 21st. We'd requested an evening appointment because we wanted to spend extra time with our pooch, Spencer, during the day.
Alex spent a good hour and a half with us. Talked to us about our options (including changing our mind, which we were convinced we should not do). She examined Spencer, listened to our description of his recent, very severe, problems, and suggested that this was the best "window" in which we should let him go. Knowing the dreadful experiences others have had watching their dogs die a painful and horrible death, we understood that it was the right time.
We gathered around Spencer on a very cozy rug in our living room. Alex administered a sedative, shortly after which Spencer rose to his feet, as if to say, "wait a minute; what's going on here?" Walked toward the kitchen, changed his mind and came back and lay down again beside us, and decided to take a nap. After awhile, he began to snore. When he was deeply asleep, Alex shaved the top of his paw, gave an injection into his vein, and frankly, I have no idea when it was he actually stopped living.
It was quite remarkable. Serene, peaceful and beautiful. We miss him terribly but do believe this was the very best thing we could have done for him.
This is a wonderful organization. By all means, if you have to let your pet go, this is the way to do it. Many thanks. We are very grateful."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady, DVM"We knew it was time to let our beloved dog go. Although we have received wonderful vet care over the years, my dog hated to go there. It was stressful for her and not the way we wanted her to spend her last moments.

My vet recommended Lap of Love. We scheduled an appointment for euthanasia. Dr. Lauren was gental and very clear about the process. My husband, Dr. Lauren and I sat with Socks in the sunshine, on our back porch. She got lots of love and bacon in her last moments. It was as good as it could have been. Every detail was handled with care and great respect.

Putting a dog down has to be one of the saddest things I've ever had to do. Dr. Lauren made it peaceful and painless. It allowed us to say goodbye to our sweet Socks in our own home. A big thank you to Dr. Lauren and Lap of Love."
