“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
Dr. AlexOur 9 year old dog, Felix, had osteosarcoma so when he developed health complications that greatly reduced his quality of life, it was not entirely unexpected. Even so, saying goodbye is never easy. Dr. Yankopoulos came to our home the next morning so Felix could be in his own home. Felix has always been good with strangers, but the doctor was still so gentle, calm, and quiet. Felix is a "small" dog in size only, he was very muscular and stocky and very alert eventually required an extra dose of sedative, but the doctor was patient and allowed Felix all the time he needed for him to settle down and fall asleep before taking his pawprint and fur clippings for keepsakes and finally putting Felix to rest. He then allowed us privacy with Felix before taking his remains away nestled with blankets in a basket. Again, it's one of the most difficult things, but Dr. Yankopoulos and LapsofLove (including the coordinator I spoke with on the phone to schedule the home appointment) operated with the utmost quiet kindness so we could focus on our final moments with Felix.

Dr. BeckyWe specifically requested Dr. Becky because of the way she cared for our Lab, Lucy, a year ago. I just can't say enough good things.

Dr. JessicaIt was very hard for us to say goodbye to Poco who had been part of our family for almost 20 years. Saying goodbye was not easy but Jessica helped to make it as comfortable and peaceful as possible. She was so wonderfully caring and kind.

Dr. MayThank you so much. I wrote an obituary for Quincy, so I added that to the Memorial page. I appreciate your compassion. Being able to say 'goodbye' at home is such a gift. And how wonderful to have the option of attending a support group. Thanks again.
